Hey FAST Families,

Thank you to everyone who came out for our mock meet tonight! I was incredibly excited to see 43 athletes in attendance and it was a fantastic way to kick off the season. A special thank you goes to all of our parents and volunteers who helped with timing and other meet responsibilities tonight as well!

Most importantly, it was so much fun to watch the kids race and have fun tonight. The energy on deck was outstanding and it was clear that everyone was enjoying themselves while competing and cheering on their teammates. As a coach, that's exactly what I love to see!

Mock Meet:
I have attached the results from tonight's meet and I was very happy to see many of the skills we have been working on put into action tonight! I apologize in advance if I inputted any names spelled incorrectly, I wanted to get this out to everyone tonight and have not had the chance to look it over with fresh eyes yet.

Mock Meet Results

One quick note about tonight's results… All of the times from our mock meet were swum in Short Course Meters (SCM), which is the format used in our pool. Most of our meets this season will also be competed in SCM. However, our championship meet at the end of the summer will be held in Short Course Yards (SCY), just as it was last season. Since a SCY pool is shorter than a SCM pool, swimmers' times in yards are typically faster than their times in meters. Keep that in mind when comparing tonight's results to championship times and Gold Time standards throughout the season.

Meet Declaration:
Please remember to declare your swimmer's availability for each meet this season. For this week's meet, all declarations must be completed by this Sunday. Gold Times:
Finally, I would like to congratulate a few of our swimmers who achieved gold times tonight and a few more who were very close! For those who may be new to the team, Gold Times are a FAST team benchmark that we have recently resurrected and it is based on the running average of 16th-place finish at our championship meet over the past three seasons. They represent a high level swimmer and provide our athletes with a fun goal to work toward throughout the season.

Remember, any swimmer who achieves a Gold Time earns a custom embroidered FAST towel featuring their name and the event in which they achieved the Gold Time!
