FAST Meet Results & Looking Ahead

Hey FAST Families,

Thank you and great job to everyone who came out to yesterday's very very hot swim meet! FAST finished just behind Louisa falling 15 points short of winning the meet. I am incredibly proud of our athletes, especially considering we had only about 40 of our 70 swimmers in attendance and had to scratch 2 relays while Louisa brought nearly 60 swimmers to the meet yesterday.

As always, a huge thank you goes out to all of our parent volunteers. I know yesterday was a hot day so I really appreciate you all helping the meet run so smoothly!

Just over half our swims were season-best times yesterday which is a great ratio this deep into the season. We did have ten disqualifications this meet, up from four at our last meet, but they were almost all simple mistakes like one-hand touches in breaststroke or butterfly, finishing on the stomach in backstroke, or separated butterfly kicks, all things that we will be especially watching out for in practices this week. The most exciting part is that we had many of our younger swimmers successfully complete legal breaststroke and butterfly races for the first or second time ever, those are huge milestones that I am extremely proud of!

We're now up to 17 Gold Times this season! We also have many more swimmers who are very close to earning Gold Times in multiple events. I'm including a best times report below for you all to see all of our athlete's best times so far this season. I will also include a link to the Gold Times page on our website HERE for you all to see.

Yesterday's meet results are attached below and ribbons will be available at the pool beginning this afternoon. Please remind your swimmer(s) to pick up any ribbons they earned.

Looking ahead, our final two regular-season meets are both at FUMA. Even though the indoor pool gets hot at our meets there, I'm excited to see what our swimmers can accomplish in a fast and familiar pool!

Please log into SwimTopia and declare your swimmers for our final two home meets and for the Championship Meet. Remember that swimmers must compete in at least two of our six regular-season meets to be eligible for Champs. SwimTopia will not allow you to declare for Championships until that requirement has been met.

Championship Meet Schedule

  • Friday, July 24: 11–12 age group (morning session) and 13 & Over (afternoon session)
  • Saturday, July 25: 8 & Under (morning session) and 9–10 age group (afternoon session)

Great job to our FAST swimmers yesterday and I'll see you all on deck!
